Hyundai, a brand of innovations

The new brand Hyundai IONIQ 5 full electric car model has just been released, which unlike the name that takes up that of the historic sedan, has innovative characteristics of excellence.

800V charging up to 220 kW

From the outside, the very particular lines certainly stand out, let’s say a little modern, but technology is the strong point of the new Korean product: the electric platform, called E-Gmp challenges European competitors, in particular Volkswagen, with a ”800V charging architecture (which makes charging in high power much easier – up to 220kW); as regards the recharging in alternating current (AC), the standard equipment allows a power up to 11 kW three-phase.

Hyundai Ioniq 5: 3 possible combinations

The engines of the Ioniq 5, at the moment, are 3 combinations:

  • single 170 HP engine and 58 kWh battery (384 km range),
  • single 218 HP engine and 72.6 kWh battery 305 HP
  • double engine (all-wheel drive) and 72.6 kWh battery.

The two 12” displays and the numerous driving aids available complete the technological panorama. Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the first model, together with its “sister” KIA EV6, to have the innovative electric platform, other models will soon follow: a sports sedan and a large SUV.
