Sharp Solar and VP Solar, market trend 2022 2023

Treviso 25th November 2022. VP Solar’s strategic partnership with Sharp Energy Solutions Europe for the distribution of photovoltaic modules in Europe is steady growing.

Sharp is one of the world’s largest photovoltaic manufacturers and has been a driving force on the photovoltaic technologies for more than 60 years. To date, Sharp has delivered more than 50 million PV modules worldwide.

VP Solar is the Italian specialized distributor operating since 1999 around Italy and Europe. VP Solar supplies photovoltaic, energy storage, heat pumps, electric vehicles charging systems.

VP Solar provides to its customers the quality of a historical brand – says Nicola Curto, VP Solar Commercial Director – I believe in the reliability of Sharp which is an important value to be offered to our customers.”

Broken relationships between Russia and its energy customers have led to a rapid focus on maintaining energy security.  – states Simon Betka, Sales Manager, SHARP Energy Solutions Europe – The change in traditional energy trade routes means that affected countries have had  to create new energy policies that not only prioritize long-term energy security, but also allows for existing energy demand to be met in the short term and at the same time not to neglect the fight against climate change. Having a robust and diverse energy mix is at the heart of energy security policies. Sharp believes that the crisis will accelerate the move to more sustainable energy.
Going through these uncertain times Sharp continues offering stability and reliability. Also, in 2022 Sharp expanded its EMEA customer base and secured growth in turnover and profit.”

Due to the long history of the company, Sharp learned how important it is to be agile and flexible. The company was founded 110 years ago and has been active in the PV industry as a pioneer for more than 60 years. Sharp established offices across Europe for over 50 years and is active in the European solar market for more than 20 years.

In 2023, Sharp will focus even more on customers and their requirements. In this context the product portfolio, corporate social responsibility and digitalization play a major role.

When building the PV panel portfolio, Sharp always keeps the customer application of the panel in mind. Sharp aims to offer the best suitable products for residential, commercial & industrial and free-field installations, but also for special applications like floating PV or agri PV.

Customers from all application areas will benefit from further improvements in energy output and panel efficiency also in 2023. Sharp will start with another 5-watt upgrade on project panels in January 2022 and furthermore add new panel technologies during the next year. In addition, design conscious customers will find a perfect solution with a new full-black panel “Made in Germany”.

Also, CSR topics become more and more important. In this context Sharp follows its own strict environmental vision and strong actions. Based on its Environmental Policy of “Creating an Environmentally Conscious Company with Sincerity and Creativity”, Sharp has updated its environmental policies and formulated the Sharp Eco Vision 2050. Under this vision, Sharp is facing the challenge of creating a sustainable global environment by providing the world with clean energy, while minimizing the environmental impact caused by greenhouse gases, waste, and other by-products from its business.

Regarding digitalization the largely positive changes within Sharps organization continue and Sharp makes further improvements in the use of digital technologies to improve the customer journey.
