GoodWe ESA Series: single-phase and three-phase all-in-one Solutions

The GoodWe ESA Series is a range of All-in-One energy storage systems integrating a hybrid inverter, battery modules and intelligent energy management into a single modular structure.

Available in single-phase and three-phase versions, the ESA Series meets the requirements of residential photovoltaic systems, homes with high energy consumption and light commercial and industrial applications. The range has been developed according to the “4S” philosophy: Silent, Smart, Safe and Simple.

A modular, pre-wired All-in-One system

In conventional energy storage systems, the inverter, batteries, protection devices and accessories must be installed and connected separately.

GoodWe ESA instead features a modular, pre-wired design that integrates the inverter and batteries into a single tower structure. This configuration reduces the number of external connections, limits the system footprint and simplifies installation and maintenance.

One-click configuration and upgrades allow commissioning to be completed via the app in approximately 10 minutes.

GoodWe ESA single-phase Series from 3 to 10 kW

The single-phase ESA Series is available in six power ratings: 3, 3.6, 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW.

The inverter can be combined with up to six 5 or 8 kWh LFP battery modules, providing a storage capacity ranging from 5 to 48 kWh. Additional modules can also be installed at a later stage, allowing the system to adapt to changing energy consumption.

The batteries support 1C charging and discharging, while the maximum MPPT current of 20 A enables compatibility with high-power photovoltaic modules. A start-up voltage of 50 V also helps extend the system’s daily operating period.

GoodWe ESA three-phase Series up to 30 kW

The three-phase version is available with power ratings from 5 to 30 kW and storage capacities ranging from 5 to 108 kWh.

Depending on the power rating, the system features up to four MPPTs and between three and six PV strings. The inputs support currents of up to 21 A per string, facilitating integration with the latest generation of photovoltaic modules.

The inverter can be configured with up to 12 battery modules with capacities of 5, 6, 8 or 9 kWh. The 5 and 8 kWh modules support 1C charging and discharging, while the 6 and 9 kWh modules operate at 0.5C.

Up to six three-phase ESA systems can operate in parallel in both on-grid and off-grid mode, providing greater scalability for homes with high energy consumption and small commercial applications.

PV oversizing up to 200%

Both versions support PV array oversizing of up to 200%, subject to compliance with the electrical parameters specified by the manufacturer.

This capability increases the energy available during periods of lower solar irradiation and allows the system to power loads while charging the battery, improving the use of the solar energy generated.

Intelligent energy management

The AI-driven EMS coordinates PV generation, energy storage, consumption and power exchanges with the grid. By analysing energy forecasts and tariffs, the system can schedule battery charging and discharging during the most cost-effective periods.

Several operating modes are available, including self-consumption, time-of-use management, smart charging, backup and off-grid operation. The system can also coordinate flexible loads such as heat pumps and water heaters.

Integrated backup in under 4 milliseconds

In the event of a power cut, the backup function switches over in under 4 milliseconds, keeping compatible loads powered without a perceptible interruption.

The three-phase version also features an internal bypass of up to 80 A and a dual-port design that simplifies whole-home backup without requiring an external static transfer switch.

Safety and acoustic comfort

The batteries use lithium iron phosphate cells, which offer thermal stability and a long operating life. Multi-layer protection monitors the system from the individual cell through to the complete unit and responds to overheating, overcurrent or short circuits.

The battery modules also feature an integrated aerosol-based fire suppression system. AI-driven AFCI 3.0 technology detects electrical arcs on the PV side, helping reduce the risk of fire caused by faults or abnormal connections.

The single-phase version uses a fanless architecture with a noise level below 35 dB. Three-phase configurations from 5 to 8 kW can achieve a sound level of approximately 30 dB at an ambient temperature of 25°C.

The IP66 protection rating allows the system to be installed indoors or outdoors, subject to the requirements set out in the technical documentation.

A scalable system designed for simple installation

The GoodWe ESA Series combines energy conversion, storage, backup and intelligent energy management in a single solution. The availability of single-phase and three-phase configurations, expandable battery capacity and support for multiple systems operating in parallel allow the solution to accommodate different power requirements and consumption profiles.

Its All-in-One design reduces cabling, external components and commissioning time, simplifying the implementation of residential and light commercial and industrial energy storage systems.
