Fronius has officially entered the residential energy storage market with Fronius Reserva, a new modular battery system developed in Europe and specifically designed to work seamlessly with the company’s Primo and Symo GEN24 Plus hybrid inverters.
With Reserva, Fronius strengthens its vision of offering a fully integrated photovoltaic ecosystem, covering energy production, conversion, monitoring, and storage within a single, coordinated platform.
Technical specifications Fronius Reserva
The Reserva battery is a modular and composable system. By stacking 2 to 5 modules, the system can achieve different capacity levels, and up to four battery towers can work in parallel simultaneously.
The battery’s voltage increases with the number of modules used, placing Reserva in the high-voltage category, reaching up to around 568 V with 5 modules.
Modules and available capacities
Each module provides about 3.15 kWh of usable storage, allowing for these capacity configurations:
- Reserva 3: 6.31 kWh (2 modules)
- Reserva 5: 9.47 kWh (3 modules)
- Reserva 6: 12.63 kWh (4 modules)
- Reserva 8: 15.79 kWh (5 modules)
Safety & Warranty
Fronius Reserva features IP65 protection against dust and water and holds several key certifications for safety and compliance, including IEC62619:2022, CE, VDE 2510-50, IEC62477-1, and UN38.3. The IP65 rating means the system is suitable for indoor installation and protected outdoor environments.
The battery comes with a 10-year warranty.
Fronius Reserva Backup functionality
Having a storage battery in a residential photovoltaic system allows users to manage their self-generated electricity more efficiently and gain independence from the grid that would otherwise be unreachable.
With Fronius Reserva paired with Fronius hybrid inverters (Primo or Symo GEN24 Plus), the system provides a backup power feature. Thanks to its reserve power capability, the system can isolate loads and continue supplying power even during grid faults or maintenance — either partially or fully.

Compact and space-saving design
With one of the thinnest profiles on the market, Fronius Reserva fits perfectly in small spaces, both in residential and business environments. Its sleek and modern design allows for a discreet and functional installation.
Flexibility and modularity
The modular system allows the storage capacity to be configured according to specific needs, from 6.3 to 15.8 kWh per tower. For greater needs, up to four towers can be connected in parallel, reaching a total capacity of 63 kWh.
Reliability and technical support
Even after 10 years of use, the battery maintains a guaranteed residual capacity of at least 80% of its initial capacity. Fronius offers comprehensive technical support for the Fronius Reserva, with qualified operators who can access all system data to provide efficient after-sales service. The free Solar.SOS platform is always available to installers, offering additional support throughout the country.
