Features of Trina Solar modules

Trina Solar is one of the leading global manufacturers of photovoltaic modules. Their panels are known for high efficiency, reliability, and technological innovation.

Let’s analyze the features of Trina Solar’s main models, available at VP Solar.

The advantages of Dual-Glass technology

All Trina Solar modules are characterized by Dual-Glass technology: the two layers of tempered glass provide greater resistance to weather conditions, unlike the traditional backsheet, which offers much less protection.

The double glass also ensures superior protection against wind, snow, and humidity, improving product reliability and reducing degradation over time. Mechanical resistance is also enhanced, minimizing the risk to develope warping or micro-cracks in the cells.

Moreover, the ultra-thin glass used for Trina modules significantly reduces their weight, without compromising the durability of the products.

TSM-xxxNEG9R.28 Vertex S+ for residential and commercial installations

The TSM-xxxNEG9R.28 model is equipped with N-type i-TOPCon cells, allowing for a maximum efficiency of 22.8%. It features standard dimensions (1762×1134×30 mm) and is available in versions ranging from 445 W to 455 W, making it an ideal solution for residential and commercial systems.

Thanks to its lower current, it is compatible with nearly all inverters currently on the market, as well as many older models.

TSM-xxxNEG18R.28 Vertex S+ for commercial and industrial systems

The TSM-xxxNEG18R.28 is designed for commercial and industrial systems. Like the previous model, it features N-type i-TOPCon technology, ensuring an efficiency above 22%. This module has a power output ranging from 490 W to 510 W and slightly larger dimensions (1961×1134×30 mm), while still allowing for easy rooftop installation.

This module is designed for pairing with commercial inverters: it’s optimized for high current and low voltage, maximizing string output.

TSM-xxxNEG19RC.20 Vertex N bifacial to maximize energy production

Another noteworthy solution is the TSM-xxxNEG19RC.20, a bifacial monocrystalline module always using N-type i-TOPCon technology.

This design boosts energy production through rear-side generation, making it particularly suitable for large-scale systems such as utility-scale installations. Its output ranges from 615 W to 625 W, ensuring high energy yield.

In addition to greater output, this module offers superior mechanical strength and longer lifespan, thereby reducing maintenance costs and optimizing investment returns.

TSM-xxxNEG21C.20 Vertex N bifacial for large installations

Lastly, the TSM-xxxNEG21C.20 is the most powerful module in the Trina Solar range. Thanks to larger N-type i-TOPCon cells, it reaches an efficiency of 23% and delivers power ranging from 685 W to 715 W, potentially even higher with bifacial technology.

This series is also certified for resistance to saline environments, ammonia, and PID, LID, and LeTID effects. This makes it suitable for applications in environments with extreme climate conditions.

Trina Solar modules: greater long-term reliability

A key aspect of Trina Solar’s modules range is the 30-year power warranty on all modules, made possible in part by the dual-glass structure. The modules are guaranteed for a maximum power degradation of 1% in the first year and 0.4% annually from the 2nd to the 30th year. This means that over the life of the module, performance loss is minimal, ensuring stable energy production for decades.
