Trina Solar Vertex S+ TSM NEG9R.28 passed the hail test

The Trina Solar TSM-435NEG9R.28 – Trina Vertex S+ dual glass – MC4 module has passed the industry standard hail test.

In fact, for all Trina Vertex + modules NEG9R.28, a certificate has been issued by TÜV Rheindland in relation to the hail resistance of the glass/ glass modules.

To verify the resistance to hail there is a test required by the IEC 61215 standard (MQ17 Hail test). In this test, the standard rule requires 25 mm hail balls to be launched at 23 m/s. Most manufacturers perform these tests based on these hail sizes and speeds.

For the NEG9R.28 the test was carried out with larger hail balls (35 mm) and at a higher speed (27 m/s) and the test result is satisfactory.

This new milestone joins the other numerous module certifications for Trina products and production system and thanks to compliance with quality standards it is part of the VP Solar product portfolio.

It also has excellent resistance to fire and difficult weather and environmental conditions with a resistance to snow load 5,400 Pa and wind load 4,000 Pa (test loads). Its technical characteristics make it ideal for small-medium sized residential and C&I installations.

It features a double-glazed design, which makes it less prone to micro-cracks and scratches during installation.

Trina Vertex S+ is compatible with existing conventional inverters and various mounting systems. Due to its low weight, it is easy to move and mount and is the most viable solution for low-capacity roofs.

This model has excellent resistance to weathering, salt spray and ammonia corrosion, and is therefore also applicable in coastal areas. Due to the excellent temperature coefficients, power loss due to increased cell temperatures is very low.

The Trina Vertex+ module is supplied with an MC4-EVO2 connector.

Snow and wind resistance

Vertex S+ TSM-435NEG9R.28 – MC4 is resistant to a snow load of 5400 Pa and a wind load of 4000 Pa.


Trina Solar has an extended product warranty of 25 years, and a linear performance warranty of 30 years due to its low degradation from N-type cells.

Trina Solar guarantees a maximum degradation of 1% in the first year to a minimum performance of 87.4% after 30 years.
