New step for Huawei BESS: LUNA2000-241-2S1 with cells above 300Ah

Huawei BESS series reaches a new milestone with the introduction of 314Ah LFP cells.

Thanks to this increased storage capacity, the latest LUNA2000-241-2S for commercial and industrial systems surpasses its predecessor’s 215kWh, reaching 241kWh.

For larger installations, only four BESS units of this size are needed to achieve nearly 1MWh of total capacity. But that’s not all: as with previous models, up to 20 BESS units can be connected in the same system, allowing storage of just under half a GWh.

Huawei LUNA2000-241-2S1 Technology

The new system features 314Ah LFP (LiFePO4) cells, providing a 12% increase in storage capacity for both individual modules and the complete BESS system.

The Power Conversion System (PCS), operating at 400V, is the same model used in the LUNA2000-215-2S10 BESS cabinet, offering a charge and discharge power of 108 kW.
With this power, the system can always be adapted to your desired configuration, whether for self-consumption, peak-shaving, or other applications.

Performance of the new Huawei BESS

The storage capacity increase directly improves performance, making it one of the top-performing BESS systems. Maximum charging and discharging efficiency reaches 91.3%.

High performance ensures:

  • Reduced energy consumption
  • Minimization of unwanted losses
  • Faster return on investment

Intelligent cooling system

High efficiency is supported by an intelligent cooling system, inherited from the LUNA2000-215-2S10, combining air and liquid cooling. The system activates automatically when a set temperature threshold is exceeded.

This homeostatic cooling process optimizes heat management, reduces energy consumption, and prolongs battery cell lifespan.

Safety and communication

The LUNA2000-241-2S1 system features an IP55 protection rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water splashes, even in outdoor environments.

It also includes an integrated oxygen barrier to prevent oxygen from entering the battery pack, reducing the risk of internal fires. If combustible gases accumulate, they are safely expelled, preventing internal combustion or explosions.

The system communicates via Ethernet or fiber optic ports, allowing seamless integration into existing company infrastructures.

Through the Huawei FusionSolar portal, any errors or issues can be quickly detected remotely. Maintenance and all associated operations are therefore greatly simplified.
