VP Solar offers the SecSun range of electrical switchboards for photovoltaic systems, designed to ensure maximum reliability, safety and operational continuity across a wide range of PV applications. The solutions integrate carefully selected components and pre-optimised configurations to reduce design and installation times, simplifying the work of installers and system designers while ensuring full compliance with applicable industry standards.
SecSun provides a practical solution to the requirements of the professional photovoltaic market: effective protection of the PV generator, simplified integration with inverters and grid systems, and maximum adaptability for residential, C&I and utility-scale installations. A high level of standardisation is combined with the possibility of technical customisation according to specific project requirements.
PV string and array switchboards
The range includes PV string and array switchboards, designed for the management and protection of photovoltaic generators. Depending on the project requirements, the switchboards can be equipped with fuse holders rated according to PV string currents and voltages, as well as load-break switches with optional shunt-trip or undervoltage release.
These configurations can also meet the specific requirements applicable to installations subject to Italian Fire Brigade fire prevention regulations (CPI).
Electrical protection and SPD devices for PV switchboards
All switchboards include Class II surge protection devices (SPDs) with replaceable cartridges, helping to ensure operational continuity while simplifying on-site maintenance.
On the inverter AC side, the switchboards are configured with Class II SPDs and residual-current circuit breakers with overcurrent protection (RCBOs) selected according to the inverter manufacturers’ technical specifications, with suitable breaking capacity and appropriate protection settings.
CEI 0-21 and CEI 0-16 standards for photovoltaic systems
For systems with a rated power above 11.08 kW, the switchboards can be equipped with interface protection systems compliant with CEI 0-21 or CEI 0-16, depending on the connection point to the electricity grid.
The system integrates certified protection relays and appropriately rated AC-3 contactors, together with optional backup control systems, in full compliance with the applicable technical standards.
Enclosures, IP protection and build quality
The enclosures used for SecSun electrical switchboards are available in thermoplastic or metal, depending on the system size and application. Protection ratings of up to IP65 provide high resistance to environmental conditions and ensure reliable operation even in outdoor installations.
Standard equipment and customised PV switchboards
Standard equipment includes technical markings and identification of cables and terminal blocks, helping to simplify installation and reduce wiring times.
Following technical testing, each switchboard is supplied with a Declaration of Conformity and electrical wiring diagram.
Upon request, customised electrical switchboards for photovoltaic systems can also be developed in collaboration with the system designer to meet specific integration requirements and optimise overall system performance.
