SMA inverters for C&I systems: Sunny Tripower X 60 and Sunny Tripower 125

SMA inverters for C&I systems offer scalable solutions for commercial and industrial PV installations, ranging from medium-power applications to systems in the megawatt range.

The Sunny Tripower X 60 and Sunny Tripower 125 meet different design requirements, combining DC-side flexibility, advanced monitoring and integration into the SMA ecosystem for system energy management.

Sunny Tripower X 60 for commercial PV systems

The SMA Sunny Tripower X 60 is a 60 kW three-phase inverter designed for medium-sized commercial PV systems.

It supports PV arrays of up to 90 kWp and features five independent MPP trackers with ten string inputs. This configuration allows efficient management of rooftops with different orientations, uneven irradiation conditions and high-current PV modules.

Maximum efficiency reaches 98.1%, while its weight of 50.5 kg facilitates handling and installation.

The integrated System Manager enables centralised management of up to five subordinate devices, including inverters, EV charging stations and energy meters, for systems with a total power output of up to 135 kVA.

Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS enables centralised commissioning, remote parameter configuration and system performance monitoring.

The Sunny Tripower X 60 also integrates SMA’s key safety and yield optimisation functions, including SMA ShadeFix, SMA Smart Connected and SMA ArcFix.

Sunny Tripower 125 for large C&I systems

The SMA Sunny Tripower 125 is designed for large commercial and industrial PV systems, including decentralised architectures extending into the megawatt range.

The inverter provides a rated power output of 125 kW and can be connected to PV arrays of up to 187.5 kWp. Maximum efficiency reaches 98.4%.

Its 12 independent MPP trackers and 24 string inputs enable precise management of the different sections of the PV array. This is particularly useful for complex rooftop installations, ground-mounted systems and projects with different orientations or irradiation conditions.

Each MPP tracker supports a usable input current of up to 30 A, making the inverter compatible with high-power PV modules.

System monitoring and management can be centralised through SMA Data Manager M and Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS, with dedicated functions for configuration, diagnostics and active power limitation at the grid-connection point.
