Huawei SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P Optimizers

In modern residential photovoltaic systems, PV system optimization is increasingly in demand in order to increase energy production, improve safety, and simplify system management over time.

Huawei addresses these needs with the Smart PV SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P optimizers, two solutions belonging to the same technological family and designed to work in combination with Huawei residential and small commercial inverters.

Technical features of Huawei SUN2000 optimizers

The SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P optimizers are designed to manage 450 W and 600 W of power respectively, operating within an MPPT voltage range from 10 V to 80 V.

The maximum short-circuit current is 14.5 A, while the maximum conversion efficiency reaches up to 99.5%. The device has compact dimensions (75 × 140 × 28 mm), weighs approximately 0.6 kg including cables, and features an IP68 protection rating.

Compatibility with Huawei inverters

The SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P optimizers are designed to operate with various Huawei residential inverters, including the L1, M1, LB0, MAP0, MB0, and M3 series (30–40 kW sizes only).

In optimized configurations, it is important to remember that all modules connected to the same inverter must be equipped with an optimizer.

Why use a Huawei residential optimizer?

Improved productivity even in non-ideal conditions

In residential PV systems, partial shading or module mismatch is quite common. In a system with a single string, all modules are forced to operate at the same current; as a result, a single shaded panel can limit the performance of the entire string, significantly reducing overall production.

The SUN2000-450W-P2 and SUN2000-600W-P optimizers overcome this limitation by allowing each module to operate independently at its own maximum power point (MPP). This makes it possible to extract the maximum available power from each module under all solar conditions.

Simplified monitoring and maintenance

Thanks to power line communication (MBUS) with Huawei inverters, the optimizer supports automatic module mapping and allows the status of each module to be displayed on the FusionSolar platform.

This makes it easier to identify any anomalies (faulty modules, defective wiring, degradation) and to intervene promptly.

Advanced safety

Huawei SUN2000 series optimizers integrate a rapid shutdown function that brings the output voltage down to 0 V when the system is shut down.

This ensures safe working conditions for installers and technicians and increases the overall level of system protection.
