DMEGC Solar showcases again its leading R&D and manufacturing capabilities used in the production of their modules with a new acknowledgement in hail resistance.<\/p>\n

The module in question is still experimental and is part of DMEGC\u2019S Infinity series<\/strong>. It is the first time that a manufacturer in the PV industry passes this test conducted by CGC (China General Certification Center).<\/p>\n

Development of hail resistant modules<\/h2>\n

Seeing the increase of extreme weather events, the market is now asking for modules with enhanced hail resistance in order to reduce as much as possible glass-damage risks deriving from this kind of weather.<\/p>\n

DMEGC Solar is trying to satisfy this need as up to date the market offers insufficient hail resistance standards. \u00a0Their R&D team in constantly working to overcome this challenge, with the goal of providing more reliable and durable photovoltaic solutions in the future.<\/p>\n

Hail test procedure<\/h2>\n

[vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]The hail test conducted by CGC simulates the impact and strike effects of hail on photovoltaic modules under natural conditions. During the test the damage of modules\u2019 appearance and structure are monitored and consequently inspected for cracks, breakage, or damage to the cells, with a comparison of performance parameters and electroluminescence (EL) images.<\/p>\n

Usually, conventional hail tests use hailstones with a diameter of 25mm, a weight of 7.53g, and with an impact speed of approximately 23m\/s, following IEC standards.<\/p>\n

However, these conditions often resemble the extreme real conditions encountered by photovoltaic modules in real world. For this reason, the test on DMECG\u2019s experimental used larger hailstones<\/strong> with a diameter of 65mm, a weight of 130g and an impact speed of 37m\/s.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/jVBmWpl_DcU?feature=shared” align=”center” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Hail resistance test results<\/h2>\n

DMEGC module, thanks to its reinforced glass and backsheet, passed the test excellently, remaining intact and without any visible damage.<\/p>\n

The EL test revealed no microcracks, defects, or moisture leakage, and the power attenuation was only about 0.53%, significantly lower than the IEC standard\u2019s requirement of 5%.<\/p>\n

DMEGC Solar continues to explore different materials and technologies to further improve hail resistance. In the future, DMEGC will release a series of modules with varying levels of hail resistance, designed to meet the needs of different risk scenarios and application environments.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
