 
{"id":63657,"date":"2021-09-15T08:00:55","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T06:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vpsolar.com\/?p=63657"},"modified":"2021-09-15T07:59:54","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T05:59:54","slug":"solaredge-new-single-string-design-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vpsolar.com\/en\/solaredge-new-single-string-design-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"SolarEdge new single string design rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SolarEdge changed the already simple <strong>design rules based<\/strong> in practice only on the minimum and maximum number of optimizers in series and the maximum power that they could support.<\/p>\n<h2>Inverter \u2264 5 kW: removed the power limit of the single series of 5.7 kWp<\/h2>\n<p>From now on, for the single-phase inverters of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vpsolar.com\/en\/product\/solaredge-hd-wave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HD Wave series<\/a><\/strong> with size less than \/ equal to 5 kW of whatever models standard, with integrated <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vpsolar.com\/en\/product\/ev-charging-single-phase-inverterse3680h-se4000h-se5000h-se6000h\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EV-charger<\/a><\/strong> or StorEdge with battery input, the power limit of the single series of 5.7 kWp is removed .<\/p>\n<h2>10 kW inverter: removed the power limit of the single string which stood at 11.25 kW<\/h2>\n<p>The same thing also for three-phase inverters from 10 kW downwards, the power limit of the single string is removed, which stood at 11.25 kW. Also included here are StorEdge inverters with 48V battery input.<\/p>\n<h2>Inverters connected to Delta-type grids are excluded from this rule<\/h2>\n<p>In this way, the design can be even easier and faster, in practice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>single string minimum 6 optimizers P404, P485, P505, P601 or 8 optimizers P370, P401, P500 for any DC power for single-phase inverters up to 5 kW;<\/li>\n<li>minimum 14 optimizers P404, P485, P505, P601 for three-phase inverters up to 10 kW, with the exception of 3 kW where 13 are enough.<\/li>\n<li>single string with at least 16 optimizers P370, P401, P500 on all three-phase inverters from 10 kW and below including 3 kW for any DC power.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Keep in mind the usual rules for optimizer module coupling:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Isc current<\/strong> less than the maximum allowed by the optimizer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Voc voltage<\/strong> calculated at the minimum design temperature lower than the maximum allowed by the optimizer<\/li>\n<li><strong>STC power<\/strong> of the module lower than the maximum allowed by the optimizer, taking into account that the power tolerance must be a maximum of + 5%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this way, in addition to saving time in the design phase, the costs of the BOS (balance of system) and assembly costs are also reduced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SolarEdge changed the already simple design rules based in practice only on the minimum and maximum number of optimizers in series and the maximum power that they could support.
