Innovation, high investments, strong media attention are the elements that distinguish electric mobility<\/strong> in this historical period. It is a sector still at an early stage of development and there are several variables involved.<\/p>\n

Digitalisation<\/h2>\n

It is expected that the internet, or the new computer technologies, will lead to considerable changes in the world of work connected with transport: connected cars, with autonomous driving<\/strong>, which will exchange electricity<\/strong> with the network or among them.<\/p>\n

This futuristic scenario is not so far away.<\/p>\n

Urbanisation<\/h2>\n

Across the planet, there is a phenomenon of population displacement towards densely populated city centres, due to the number of services made available in large cities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This implies a higher level of polluting emissions and greater difficulty in transport. Therefore, cities will need to equip themselves with new systems and technologies.<\/p>\n

The environmental issue<\/h2>\n

The 5 levels defined by the Federal Research Institute for Transport and Mobility in Germany, for the autonomous driving are:
\n1. Assisted driving:<\/strong> driving support, such as cruise control or adaptive cruise control;
\n2. Semi-autonomous guide:<\/strong> assistance systems that keep the car in its lane (for example on the motorway) and at the right safety distance;
\n3. Highly-automated driving:<\/strong> cars can drive independently on the motorway or in areas of heavy traffic;
\n4. Fully-automated guide:<\/strong> able to handle complex situations without the driver having to intervene. This new type of machine is still in an experimental phase, and its production is currently limited to a few prototypes;
\n5. Autonomous driving:<\/strong> the steering wheel and the driver will disappear, there will only be passengers transported in a car connected to the infrastructures and moving completely independently.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”51153″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Strenghts<\/h2>\n

From the technological point of view (performance and autonomy), taking advantage of large investments, it is possible to record a good progress.<\/p>\n

Weaknesses<\/h2>\n

The lack of charging infrastructures and the still high purchase price are certainly weaknesses.

Opportunities<\/h2>\n

The strong relationship between e-mobility and renewable energy (in particular photovoltaic energy) is certainly an opportunity for important developments.<\/p>\n
