The power optimizers work as a DC/DC converter while connected to each photovoltaic module in order to increase its efficiency. SolarEdge optimizers’ point is to make the module smart by tracking their maximum power point (MPPT).
They track the performance of every single module connecting it to the SolarEdge monitoring platform and, due to the SafeDC ™ feature, the DC modules’ voltage is automatically reduced to ensure safety standard levels.

These optimizers are specifically intended to work with SolarEdge inverters maintaining a fixed string voltage. This ensures higher flexibility in the implant design due to longer and different length strings.
